What is Google Adsense?
Google AdSense - is an outrgrowth of the Google Content-Targeted Advertising program. It was launched in early March 2003. AdSense allows web publishers to deliver Google ads that are relevant to what their readers see on their web pages and increase their site's revenue potential.
Google's advertising program that provides webmasters an opportunity to display and get paid for Google ads, is becoming more and more popular. This tool provides you with the opportunity to "try before you buy" into Google's AdSense program. Pick up different colors and sizes and see how it will look on your web site. Even more important, you will see what kind of ads Google will be sending your way. All you need to do is provide the URL of the web site where you are planning to place Google's ads. Google is using content relevancy and you may not be happy to see that competitor's ads pop at your web site.
This early program let large websites integrate Google AdWords into their websites. At first each deal was independently negotiated with Google, and sites with less than 20 million page views couldn't participate, Not anymore. The small players can play too.
These ads are called "Adsense", they are paid advertisements and can be a very lucrative income source for the person posting them on his/her website.

The AdSense System:
- The Google AdSense program lets much smaller websites play.
- An advertising program that can make money for you thorough advertising on your website.
- Text ads are placed on your website using a code supplied to you by Google.
- You receive payment by Google every time someone clicks on one of the ads on your site.
Google also has a feature allowing you to put a Google search box on your site. When someone uses this box to search the web, ads are also displayed on the search results pages.
Google wants to display "relevant, text-based, un-obtrusive Google AdWords ads" on your web pages.
Google says: "Because the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site, you'll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages."
